Hello My Beautiful Friends!
Everyone has a chef in themselves. We love to explore our ideas and try to replicate the dishes we enjoy eating in a restaurant. The final dish may or not turn out as expected but the whole process is very fulfilling. In fact, it often works as a stress buster or brings me out of boredom on weekends. Similarly, we all have an artistic/creative mind in us. Be it painting, sketching, playing instruments or in today’s case a DIY enthusiast!
I have been into DIY face and body masking for as long as I can remember. During my childhood, I would sneak into the kitchen and mix a bunch of stuff, typically blended fruits, yoghurt, sugar and what not to try out and get rid of tanning. It is so weird that even though I was always inclined towards being in a medical field, I was very much fascinated by the beauty and cosmetic industry. Makes sense now, lol!
During those days there wasn’t proximity or even awareness of the Internet so the experimentations were limited. However, these days picturesque layouts and nostalgic recipes on the internet are so hard to resist. Curiosity and bit of wisdom led me into trying out spa recipes at home even more now than ever. However, I am not as patient as I should be, that’s why I rarely attempt to get involved with body butters and gentle castile cleansers, maybe someday—hopefully! But I am always excited about bath salts, luxury bath concoctions, bath bombs and per say, everything that does not take very long to put together.
Today’s recipe is very close to my heart and I call it the ULTIMATE LUXURY MILK BATH. We all have heard about the legends of Egyptian princess Cleopatra bathing in rich pure milk to maintain soft younger looking skin. But, let’s accept this—we aren’t Princesses to afford bathing in litres of milk every day nor we have someone to clean the bathroom afterwards, lol. So, without compromising on the quality, I put together this simple but definitely a crowd pleaser recipe. Whenever I had a slumber party with my girlfriends, they would sniff around in the bathroom and try to figure out what smelled so good. They tried it out, their skin looked clarified and softer, asked for more so I gifted them with a freshly made batch. I would tease them to never share the recipe but as I am a blogger now, I would happily let you guys be a part of this secret concoction. I love you all!
The ingredients in this milk bath provide exfoliation, help soften and brighten the skin, uplift with the essential oils, de stress and refresh at the same time. Baking soda acts an exfoliant and with orange essential oil deodorises. Whole milk powder gives the gentle AHA exfoliation to brighten the skin. Epsom Salt is known for years for it’s detoxifying properties and Moroccan twist of spice and roses will give you the ultimate bathing experience.
I hope you like it as much as I do.
DIY RECIPE- THE ULTIMATE LUXURY CLEOPATRA MILK BATH WITH A MOROCCAN TWIST
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cup Of Whole Milk Powder
1/2 Cup Of Epsom Salt
1/8 Cup Of Baking Soda
1/4 Cup Of Dried Rose Petals
8-9 Cardamoms
8 Drops Of Rose and 4 Drops Of Orange Essential Oils (Maintain precision with the drops count)
HOW TO:
Crack open the cardamoms and separate the seeds. Add edible dried rose petals to the cardamoms. In a large dry bowl, add 1 cup of milk powder, 1/2 cup of Epsom salt and 1/8 cup of baking soda.
Mix together and make sure to break all (if any) lumps. Add the essential oils to the dry mixture and combine everything well.
In a blender add the cardamom seeds with the skin and dried rose petals. Grind until you end up with a fine powder. Separate if few strips of cardamom skin are left behind.
Add the rose petal and cardamom powder to the dry milk powder mixture, as shown in the picture below.
Combine and store in a dry airtight container. Storing in a refrigerator, away from stronger smelling food items will make it last for months.
The scent of the essential oils, blend and mellow down over time but doesn’t fade if kept in a cool place. With every scoop in your bath, you can enjoy a mild detanning and skin softening effect. It also works in summers to help fight any itching and body odour. Not to forget the mesmerising fragrance that gives the bathroom Middle Eastern Spa like feel. I highly recommend trying out this recipe and also sharing with your family and friends.

This milk bath could also be an amazing gift for your BFF and Mom or used as a romantic way to wind up the day with your partner in a hot water tub. Use dimmers, or candles with a relaxing music- I am really liking Yurima at the moment.

Yea!! I have come across rose bath salts, scrubs and even soaps but very rarely do I see people bother to consider using milk powder as a significant ingredient as it is exfoliating, brightening, softening and you feel the results every time. I have been making small batches of these for years and now my friends keep asking for different varities . I think I should go ahead and experiment😊.. Thank you so much for commenting and liking my post!! ❤️❤️ Let me know your thoughts when you try it out..xx✨
