What’s In My Handbag?

“A girl’s best friend is a diamond”, a saying that may never seem to be disagreed with. Similarly, a handbag is a girl’s chest of secrets. From her favourite shade of lipstick to her long wishlist, a girl and her handbag shares many hush-hush moments and is something very personal and close to heart. I am sure you all have the same relationship with your handbags.
As much as I love to have a sneak peek in what other bloggers have to share about their handbags, I also enjoy talking about what I am carrying and loving lately.
My handbags don’t change with the seasons but my requirements.
Currently, I am carrying Rebecca Minkoff Monroe Tote in Biscuit. It is very spacious and the neutral shade is easy to pair with every outfit. It is made of real leather but not the kind that starts to peel off after few uses. I love how long the handles are so my arms don’t feel stuck while wearing the bag on shoulder. There are many compartments and this is a great pick for carry ons during flights. Unfortunately it is out of stock but do grab it if you can. It is totally worth it’s price tag.

First and foremost are the

Essentials

IMG_0337.JPGI always carry a wallet or clutch so important things like keys, cards and cash don’t get lost around in the handbag. Currently, I am loving zipper types of clutches and this embroidered one from Accessorize is a favourite of mine. It is big enough and looks chic with grey, pink and gold detailing. I love to carry it for night time use as well. Call it easy transition! Owls are one of my favourite creatures and I own so many of owl keychains and this cute studded one is from my last trip to Dubai.
In my wallet, you will always find a card holder, some stationary, keys, some cash and my sparkly mirror.

The pair of ancient Egyptian style earrings is my purchase from a seller I came across on Instagram. Based on my requests she found some splendid pieces and I have since become a regular customer.

I also make sure to carry my Ipad Air since I don’t own a Macbook yet. I hope that’s not a crime..hahaha.. I currently own an IPhone SE in rose gold and an old Motorola
phone. Along with my gadgets and wallets my apple earphones always go with me. I have been thinking about buying Beats headphones in rose gold but the price tag always puts me off.

My frame is from French Connection. I got a pretty good deal for the frame and the glasses used do not strain my eyes from thd constant use of computers. The glasses I went for are from Zeiss and they have different options depending on the power and type of requirement. I notice that my eyes do not get as red or feel strained like before.

 Skincare

IMG_0334.JPG

You wouldn’t expect me to not have any skincare products, would you? I feel like my handbag would be incomplete if I am not able to find new skincare products or samples for testing on the go. Here I have;

Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence “Intensive Moist”
If you are not familiar or have used SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, you must buy the one from Missha. Formulated with 90% fermented yeast it is not only an amazing dupe but comes in a much larger sized bottle at an cost effective price. SK-II comes in a 75ml bottle costing around 99USD and Missha costs for 49USD and comes in a 150ml bottle. You can do the math.

Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Activator Ampoule
Again a popular dupe of an another highly popular and expensive product. There isn’t any one ingredient that can stand out from the rest in this impeccable skincare genie. From bringing back life to dry skin to complete anti ageing repair, I personally feel everyone should own this product.

Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream
This is actually advertised as an anti ageing cream but I don’t really pay attention to all that unless a product doesn’t work for me. And concentrating on it’s ingredients it is a great moisturising cream for all ages as per my opinion.

Junaili Apricot Body Oil
Since I have recovered from viral fever, my body skin is extremely dry and sensitised. My skin feels rough to touch and itches a lot. So, I am using a lot of body oil and this one is from the same brand I talked about in my last post. This oil does take a little while to be absorbed but I use generously which makes my skin extremely soft and non flakey. I highly recommend trying it out since it is very cost effective as well.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry
Is there ever a time I mention this lip mask/balm and don’t compliment it? I normally use it only at nights but because of the medication my lips feel very dry, almost bleeding at all times. I slather on thick layer and wipe the excess when in public or at work. Always a life saviour!

Shikai Borage Therapy Dry Skin Lotion Unscented
There is nothing fancy about this body lotion but it is a great dry skin reliever. The skin between my fingers gets red and peels which causes burning sensation so I am keeping away from all of my luxurious smelling body care products. Shikai makes really affordable and on point skincare and haircare products. If you live in USA then do try out their ranges.

Innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream Mild SPF 35 PA+++
A girl always has to have a sunscreen, right?? I am just starting to use this sunscreen so I don’t have an opinion, yet! However, I really liked it’s formulation and price so I am hoping to like it as a product as well. Have you guys tried it?

Makeup

Let’s begin with my new favourite product of the moment!

IMG_0333.JPG

Givenchy Le Rouge Intense Color Sensously Mat Lipstick in Rose Dentelle #203

From the packaging to the colour pay off and texture, this lipstick speaks luxury. Housed in a genuine leather case, this slightly blue rose pink shaded satin matte lip colour is a perfect everyday colour for all skin tones. The pigmentation is opaque and consistency starts off as creamy then settling into a semi matte finish.

Dior Addict Lip Gloss in Dior Mania #759

You may very rarely find me talking about lip glosses. They look great but let’s be honest, one sip and all the product will transfer on to the glass. Lip glosses are only great if you want your lips to look plump and glittery at all times. But as they say, there are always some exceptions. When I swatched Dior Mania, my heart immediately started playing games with my brain. The colour is so lush, full of iridescent sparkles and looks extremely beautiful and wearable despite being a reddish pink. The pigmentation is average but the formula is very creamy and smooth. If you wear it on top of a lipstick, your lips will look plump, almost kissable like. The wand is small and like a brush that spreads the product evenly. I am loving this so much that I don’t mind reapplying it after every meal.

L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder in Rose Vanilla
When I initially started my makeup application, compact powders have been my friends since. I love how light weight they feel and provide light coverage. L’Oreal and Maybelline have been two of my drugstore favourites. The superior part about L’Oreal’s super blendable compact is there are so many shade options available. My skin may be little tanned or paler, I don’t need to worry about right shade. No matter what the weather, this compact gives seamless light coverage and never looks cakey.

The Body Shop Face and Body Brush
I didn’t pay much attention to The Body Shop’s makeup ranges till my last online purchase. I was getting this brush on sale and I needed a new powder brush so it all seemed to fall in place. I am so not regretting my purchase! This brush is very very soft and as usual cruelty free. It picks up right amount of product and never makes my base shift or smear. This is a perfect everyday brush for powders, blushes and touch ups.

Nykaa Matte Nail Enamel in Very Vanilla 156

Unfortunately for residents outside of India, this brand only sells products within Indian territory. When Nykaa launched it’s matte nail polish collection, everyone went crazy because of Nude options. I have used two shades from Nude collection so far and I love all of them. These nail polishes aren’t very costly come in frosted glass packaging and colours stay for atleast 5-5 days. One swipe is enough for full coverage and colours are very feminine. Very vanilla is like a light beige colour so girls with fair skin tones will find it most flattering.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Red Berry

A makeup product or skincare, I have repurchased this lip oil in the same shade twice. Red Berry is most opaque of all the shades and suits all skin tones. You may have used all sorts of lipcare products, but if you haven’t tried this lip oil then you are certainly missing out. It feels so luxe on the lips right from the application and actually softens the skin instantly. Even though it is called a lip oil, it is more like a gloss but not at all sticky. I love using it before any lipstick or just on it’s own.

VDL Pantone Cheek Color Coral Vitality
Do you need a natural looking cheek stain that is travel friendly and doesn’t break you out? Go ahead and grab this almost toy like cheek blush. It is a cream formula and blends effortlessly. I always dab a bit of powder to lock it and I am good to go. Coral Vitality is a perfect shade for giving cheeks natural flushed look.

Additionals

Vogue Magazine
I was an avid reader of fashion and beauty magazines but stopped for few years in between. I rediscovered my love for Vogue recently and subscribed for another year. I must admit my level of interest in reading books in below 1 so a magazine is my go to when en route.

Nina Ricci Ricci Ricci Fragrance
I have shared my fall and summer fragrances but it’s been few months since and although Nina Ricci’s Ricci Ricci is more of an autumn winter perfume, I am hooked. It has a sensuality to itself which is always noticed whenever I wear it. I love longer lasting ones so I don’t have to reapply every 2-3 hours during work. Ricci Ricci is not a fruity scent so I can wear it even in crowded places without giving people serious headache. The top notes are floral but not like rose or lily and I can also smell hint of sweet citrus. If you can please please go and sniff it at the store. There aren’t many perfumes that smell this perfect.

Pukka Herbs Cleanse Tea Bags
Teas are my weaknesses and sincs I have reduced my intake of caffeine, I carry my favourite tea bags. Pukka makes myriad varieties of organic teas and everything from the packaging to the taste is to die for. I have noticed that a cup of water and a bag of tea can cost unjustifiably expensive in most places. I am not a clingy girl but somethings I just don’t understand. So, I order food and a mug of hot water for my tea bags and I am good to go.

Aroma Magic Tea Tree Essential Oil
You may know tea tree oil as a popular natural spot treatment but due to it’s anti fungal, anti bacterial and insect repellent properties, I also dab it on any insect bites. Until few months ago, I used it only as a spot treatment or in face masks and moisturisers. I accidentally applied it once on a mosquito bite and the itching stopped. So, I make sure to carry it for any emergencies.

Aroma Treasures Eucalyptus Essential Oil
If you come across a person with sinusitis or allergies and who uses essential oils, you will never find him/her without a bottle of eucalyptus oil. It is exceptionally brilliant in relieving congested nose and headaches. Don’t ever use it directly on the skin though. I either diffuse it or dab some on my tissue to sniff and it instantly provide comfort.
