Hey Gorgeous People!
Hope you all are having a wonderful day and enjoying the sunshine. Meanwhile, all the beauty addicts are focusing on sunscreens, lightening whitening products and that is precisely what everyone should be thinking and talking about(skincare wise), but is that all one needs to change according to the season?
My question is, have you felt the need for a investing in a new cleanser? Is your winter face wash not cleansing enough, given the greasy weather and subsequent dirt striken and possibly breakout prone skin conditions?
If you are saying yes to the above question, then sit tight and read this post further.
Cleansing is “the most essential step” of skincare. Slapping on world worthy products with much devotion and faith on a rather unclean skin is not beautiful theoretically and practically. So, as a predominant beauty(skincare) blogger, it is my wish and duty to share right information and useful tips to everyone who visits my blog.
I have compiled a list of cleansers that I have used in the past months and some that I am using currently and haved liked them with their individuality. All the cleansers cater to a specific skin type/condition and are of different budgets, so I hope to help you choose the one that suits your needs the best.
Boots Simply Sensitive Cleansing Gel Wash -All skin types except very oily
Being a very popular drugstore brand in the UK, Boots is becoming one of the loved brands by teens and budget buyers in many other countries as well. I have had more hits than misses with Boots, partly because I go through a product before purchasing and it is only rarely that I buy something in a haste.
Talking about their sensitive line, it is very good. Fragrance free, colour free and with minimal ingredients is the first step towards taking care of sensitive skin. I used this face wash during colder months and I am still using it in my morning routine, except when I am feeling very oily. I love how it cleans gently yet thoroughly leaving my skin smooth with a “clean feel”. I have talked about it previously and like it enough to refer to my readers as well.
Clinique Wash Away Gel Cleanser- Oily to very oily
I don’t know if you have used or even heard about this wonderful product. As far as I know, Clinique is renowned for it’s 3 step system, but there is lots more to try from this completely fragrance free brand. Wash Away Gel Cleanser has been reformulated and I really really like the new version. First of all, it comes in a gigantic size tube with blue coloured gel and trust me, this face wash will last you very long. It is a deep cleansing gel and washes away makeup effectively, not the waterproof mascara, of course.
This is more suited towards oily to very oily skin types and I prefer using it twice or thrice a week or when I have had a long day outdoors and my skin needs thorough cleanse. Although it will be bit stripping on drier skin types, it will not cause any flakiness or irritation. It is also SLS free and contains Aloe Vera and Chamomile. If it is available where you live then give it a try!
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Gel Cleanser- Slightly dry/ normal/combination and dehydrated
Dry skin that looks dull and has a texture that does not seem to absorb the products that you apply to overcome the dryness is actually an oily skin that is dehydrated. Hydration works well on such skin types than moisturising ingredients. As the name suggests, this very pleasantly scented hydrating cleansing gel is formulated with two very good water retaining ingredients. Glycerin and hyaluronic acid works well with any skin type and condition. It comes in a beautiful blue bottle(cleanser is colourless) with twist and lock system, that I find very useful for travels. Having used this cleanser on and off for a few months now, I have to agree that it does what it says. Despite being a cleansing product that is expected to remove all the gunk and that’s it, one must not overlook the importance of a right cleanser. I do experience minor to moderate surface dryness on very cold and dry days, but after using it, the softness of my skin was back and off went the flakiness.
Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel- Combination/Oily to very oily with or without acne
Combination/Oily and acne prone sufferers, this ones for you! I found it rather late, but I am glad now I have it. Green bottle packaging with twist and lock system, pleasant scent with green tint, this cleanser comes in 200ML (and also 100ML) size. First of all, I want to clear the air that exfoliants work significantly only when they are left on the skin and allowed to do their job. But, using cleansers with glycolic, salicylic, malic or effective exfoliating acids can accompany follow up products and aid in quicker effect. Vichy does not specify the percentage of glycolic and salicylic acids but I have noticed the difference in my skin overtime. Haven’t caused more breakouts or dried out my skin, but I use it only during summers. It is also soap and paraben free. I am going to say it again, this cleanser is indicated towards combination to oily skin, but if you have dry skin and acne, then this one may not work for you. Acne prone or not, if you have skin that is towards being greasy, then you will find this a good option.
Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal Refreshing Gel Cleanser–Dry/Normal/Sensitive
This one is the most gentle among all the ones mentioned in this post. If you are a consistent reader of my blog, you may remember I added this cleanser to my winter favourites . My skin is combination and is acne prone with sensitivities, but using deep cleansing products in winter also causes surface dryness and flakiness. I am very fond of this clean smelling, natural and paraben free face wash with lots of bubbles in the tube(may be I am crazy). Although it is not fragrance free, it will not worsen the sensitivities if any, and wash off dirt very gently. It has sugar derivates that have softening properties. Not a high lathering formula, but many times it is for the best. Dry skin will love this during warmer months.
