Hello My Beautiful People!!!

How are you all doing today? As promised, I am back today with another post on Summer Care Essentials.

While we concentrate mostly on our skin not only in summers but throughout the year, we comparatively ignore the condition of our hair due to the changes in the weather. While moisturising is key factor during winters, during summers, we need moisture, elasticity and freedom from frizz while still having bouncy, light weight hair.

Hence, the second part of my Summer Essentials Series has to be HAIR CARE.

( In my last post TOP 11 BEST HIGH END MASCARAS WORTH THE SPLURGE) I added links to the product names with the intention of providing convenience to you if you wish to check out the products. If you like to have ready links, then do let me know. I will be more than happy to add from now onwards. Also, if you guys feel that I am in anyway being sponsored or affiliated, then be rest asured. If I ever do any sponsored posts, I will disclose it clearly).

Let’s begin with our post.

First Stop- cleansing.

Hair cleansers/Shampoos are an integral part of our haircare because they do more than just washing. Specific to our needs, they can help reduce dandruff flakes, get rid of excess oils and buildups and some provide intense moisturisation. Personally, I have tried both drugstore and high end versions when it comes to shampoos. Honestly speaking, I have not found one high end version that can overtake my experimention and faith on drugstore ones. It is definitely your call, but, here are my favourites.

For Clarifying, I like Pantene Truly Natural Clarifying Shampoo from the drugstore. It does everything a clarifying shampoo should except it is not as stripping as some others that I have used before. Recently, I have switched to Pantene Weekly Deep Cleanse Purifying Shampoo with Mint oil.. I love the invigorating scent that leaves my hair clean, shiny, light weight and that smells gorgeous, perfect for summers.

For Regular Cleansing, I alternate between Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo and LOreal Paris Hydrating Moisture 2 in 1 Shampoo. Dove Oxygen Moisture is different to the other Dove shampoos in terms of moisturisation. It moisturises with the presence of glycerin than the milk substitute in others, but not so intense that may leave hair with greasy residue, especially on the scalp. LOreal is also a light weight hydrating shampoo and for my hair, it is much suitable during summers.

For Intense Shine and Smoothness, I either use Loreal Paris Nutri Gloss High Shine Shampoo or Kerastase Nutritive Bain Satin-2 Shampoo. The former gives glossy finish to the hair because of Glyco Silk and the latter provides sleekness and softness due to addition of Protein and Lipids. Together, they gives results that are more obvious after straightening the hair with ceramic flat iron. I tend to do this when I have a special event and want to put my hair down.

I have to confess, I am not among those who religiously follow up with similar brand conditioners. Despite, every hair stylist and haircare brand suggesting to use shampoos and conditioners from the same collection, I do experiment a lot. I use conditioners regularly and switch with a mask once every two weeks.

For Conditioners, I like Garnier Triple Nutrition Conditioner because it gives the strength, softness that my ends needs all year round.

For Masks, I love the MOROCCANOIL Restorative Hair Mask as it gives a healthy and lively look and feel to my hair. It tends to give more elasticity as well and I notice that my hair does not go through much breakage as it use to before.

Leave in is crucial for every hair type. It seals the cuticles that protects hair from wind, pollution, UV rays and humidity, ofcourse.

Paul Mitchell Soft Style Cream gives soft, manageable hair and also provides UV protection and is safe for colour treated hair. It also works well with curly, wavy hair.

Nexxus Hydra-Light Leave In Conditioning Foam is lightweight formula that helps with static and frizz without weighing the hair down. It is perfect to use on washed hair as well as dry hair. It gives bit of hold to help with flyaways but do not think of this as a proper hair styling product.

For light hydration or quick injecting of sleekness Organix Coconut Water Weightless Hydration Oil is perfect. It is made of coconut water and coconut oil. So, it wont be as moisturising as heavy serums. Just spray some on your ends and gently spread it through your hair with fingers or wide toothed comb.

Most people do not like using hair oils altogether. But, for me it is more like an intense nourishment prior to washing. My hair is dry at the lengths and gets extremely frizzy. I notice a lot of difference if I treat the lengths of my hair with some oil or thick serum. Although, I keep pre conditioning limited to once a week during summers.

My personal favourite is Nexxus Oil Infinite Nourishing Hair Oil. It is made of deeply moisturising hair oils among light weight hydrating ones. Coconut oil, Sweet Almond oil, Sunflower oil are great to use as pre washing conditioners.

If you do not want to spend much then you can raid your kitchen and use some Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil and add an Essential Oil of your choice for relaxation. Tie your hair in a bun or a braid as you would not want to let all the oils get on to your face.

Buns, fishtail braids and simple pigtails are my favourite hairstyles for this season. So, I do not add much to my hair after a leave in. However, when I do style my hair, I use Toni and Guy Heat Protection Mist. It is a light weight spray and does not give a greasy film afterwards. I let my hair air dry half way and then follow up with a blow dryer to bone dry my hair. Then I spritz Tigi S Factor Flat Iron Shine Spray on sections avoiding the roots before ironing. I do not use unless I am ironing my hair.

Here are my long time favourites for Hair Care during the humid weather. I do suggest you to try out something before purchasing. If there are some exciting products that you favour, please do share with me and also suggest me with your tips to keep hair healthy and bouncy. I love to read your comments and suggestions.
